Who we are

Parley Operations Group, Inc. (“Parley”, “we”) provides customer support, trust & safety and back-office teams to businesses. Our client office is at 1100 East 5th Street, Suite 310, Austin, TX 78702, and we operate studios in Bogotá, Cebu, Cape Town and Lisbon.

This notice explains how we handle personal data in two different roles: as a controller for our own website, sales and recruiting, and as a processor when we handle our clients’ customer data on their instructions.

Our two roles

When you visit this website, send us a brief or apply for a job, Parley decides why and how your data is used. We are the controller for that data, and this notice applies in full.

When our teams answer our clients’ customers, review content or process orders, the client is the controller and Parley is its processor. We only use that data to deliver the service, under a written data processing agreement. If you are a customer of one of our clients, please contact that business first: their privacy notice applies to you.

What we collect

As a controller, we collect:

  • Contact details you give us: name, work email, company, phone number and anything you write in a brief or message.
  • Recruiting data: your CV, interview notes, assessment results and, where the law allows, background check outcomes.
  • Website data: pages viewed, approximate location from your IP address, device and browser type, collected with privacy-friendly analytics that do not use advertising cookies.

How we use it

  • To reply to your enquiry and prepare a team plan or quote (legitimate interest, or steps before a contract).
  • To run our contracts with clients, including invoicing and account management (contract).
  • To assess job applications and meet employment law obligations (steps before a contract, legal obligation).
  • To keep the website secure and understand which pages are useful (legitimate interest).

We do not sell personal data, and we do not use it for automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects.

Sub-processors

We use a small number of service providers for hosting, email, recruiting software and finance. Each is bound by a written agreement that requires the same level of protection as this notice.

For client work, we list every sub-processor in the data processing agreement and give clients 30 days’ notice before adding a new one, with the right to object.

International transfers

Our studios are in Colombia, the Philippines, South Africa and Portugal, and our client office is in the United States. Where personal data moves between countries, we use recognised safeguards such as standard contractual clauses, and assess the destination’s protections before the transfer.

How long we keep it

  • Enquiries and briefs: 24 months after our last contact, unless you become a client.
  • Client contract records: for the length of the contract plus seven years, for tax and legal purposes.
  • Job applications: 12 months after the role closes, or longer if you ask us to keep you in mind.
  • Client customer data handled as a processor: only as long as the client instructs, then returned or deleted within 30 days of the contract ending.

Security

Our teams work on managed devices in access-controlled studios, sign in to client systems through single sign-on with multi-factor authentication, and are not allowed personal phones on production floors. Access is reviewed every quarter, and an independent firm audits our controls each year.

If we become aware of a breach affecting your personal data, we will tell you, and the relevant regulator where required, without undue delay.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of your personal data, to object to or restrict how we use it, and to withdraw consent at any time. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.

To use any of these rights, email privacy@parleyteams.com. We reply within 30 days and may need to confirm your identity first.

Changes to this notice

We will post any changes on this page and update the date at the top. If a change is significant, we will tell clients and candidates directly.
